This week I’ve had to choose to be positive despite the unrest that has plagued the U.S. for the last few days. The series of events surrounding George Floyd’s death, compounded by Coronavirus, is much, but in days like this, I think on Joshua 1:9.

For now, here are my top 2 for this week:

01 | GEORGE FLOYD

George Floyd’s death was unnecessary and horrific. Let’s just call it what it is. It evokes feelings of outrage coupled with feelings of hopelessness because this type of brutality continues to play out and very little, if any, justice is had for the victims and their families.

Over the last few days, anger and deep frustrations have welled up inside of me. Yet, the thought stays with me that, to honor Mr. Floyd’s life (and that of other precious souls we’ve lost in similar ways), we have to bring about the type of change that makes this type of brutality an anomaly and not the norm. I will not belabor the point, but we can and must do better. Look within yourselves and figure out what better means for you and the broader community you live within. Remember, every step in the right direction matters.

02 | AFFORDABLE + COZY

There are very few things that I enjoy more than cozy and comfortable clothing, and when making a purchase fits nicely into my budget…that’s definitely a win in my book.

If you’re in the market for new PJs and want to stay budget-conscious, look no further than these pajamas from Target. I purchased multiple items from this line and love them all. The fabric is soft and moves with you.

If you’re gearing up for summer and lightweight sundresses are your style, check out one of my favorite sleeveless tiered dresses (image above) also at Target. This dress is perfect for Saturday outings and just beating the heat if you in sunny or warm weather.
