I normally write this post as a reflection of things that I’ve observed during the week. This week, I’m taking a different approach and writing it from the perspective of what I’m looking forward to in 2021.
This week’s break gave me a fair amount of time to think about the upcoming year and how I’d like to see it turn out. I know that we are at the mercy of the pandemic and all the precautions that come with this sort of thing, but I’m optimistic that I can adhere to safety protocols while still living life a bit more than I did in 2020. Like everyone else, I have never had my life just stop and remain at a virtual standstill for such a long period of time. In order to increase my normalcy, I’m cautiously working to increase happiness in the things that I still have control over. For now, that’s forward-thinking, which led me to this week’s top 3:
01 | 2021 Bucket List
My bucket list for 2020 was very different from this year’s list. We were caught off guard in 2020 and there were many things that I couldn’t accomplish, but this year, I think it is more important than ever to reverse engineer our happiness and goals. Here are a few items that I’ve included on my 2021 bucket list. When I amass 20 items on my bucket list, I’ll be sure to share them with you, along with my progress.
- Take a railway vacation. This stunning mini-vacay has me in awe and I haven’t even boarded. With this short journey, you can take in some of nature’s most scenic offerings while getting some smarts on the history of the route.
- Learn to make a macrame plant hanger.
- Learn to meditate.
- Get involved (likely virtually) with a good cause and volunteer
- Visit Seaside, Florida
02 | Magic Kingdom’s 50th Anniversary
I can’t believe that Disney’s Magic Kingdom will be turning 50 years old this year, but it’s happening on October 1, 2021. Stay tuned for all the ways that Disney plans to celebrate this major milestone. If you know anything at all about Disney’s magic, you know that it will be an impressive event.
03 | Jeni’s Ice Cream in Florida
I’ve loved Jeni’s ice cream since I was first introduced to the brand back in 2016. Jeni’s creates a love affair with ice cream and is simply divine…no matter the flavor chosen. When I relocated from Georgia back to Florida, leaving Jeni’s behind was a sore point. Luckily, the brand has supermarket offerings and will be debuting locations in Tampa and Sarasota. If you haven’t had Jeni’s don’t be the last person to give the brand a try. Believe me, it’s so worth it!
