wreaths

I think I have a love affair with holiday wreaths, and I’m pretty sure that I got it from my Mama (Winter Wonderland – the photo on the right belongs to her).

For as long as I can remember, a wreath has adorned our front door – no matter the occasion. I don’t think I’ll ever stray from the tradition, but this year, I had to ratchet the selection process down by quite a bit. I returned from our Thanksgiving getaway with no motivation to decorate, so I decided to go ultra-simple and chose the vintage wreath (center photo) from Walmart. It was under $20 and required little prep before I thought it was reasonably door-ready. I like that it looks whimsical and pairs nicely with a couple of poinsettias. Please note: my wreath is an indoor wreath, but I’m not looking for longevity with this one and decided to use it outside.

If you’re still contemplating ideas for this year’s wreath (or mailbox swag)…or, if you’re farther along and just gathering ideas for next year, I’ve put together a mini-guide with wreath and swag options that range from budget-friendly to splurge-worthy.

Tip:  To keep track of your wreaths, consider taking a photo of each one and assigning a memorable name so that you know what you have on hand.  You can then store the photos in a photo box or digitally.
