Books I Read in November 2021

We’re all pulled in a million different directions every day and if you’re running a solopreneur or small business, you’re likely feeling the pressure in an even more intense way.  Life is chaotic and there’s no time to read…I heard ya and I know.  But you MUST.  You can’t allow your professional development to fall by the wayside.  That’s where these reads come into play.  Indulge me and I promise you there’s likely at least one (probably more) worthwhile gains from the books in this list.  Here goes…

2 Must-reads for Bosses:

The Decisions:  This audiobook was hands-down my favorite book of the year and that says a lot because I’ve read several good books.  Kevin Hart humors the reader but drops some serious nuggets that will benefit you in life and work.  Focusing on mental toughness and how to overcome the daily b.s. that threatens to destroy your focus and accomplishments, Hart guides the listener through a mental boot camp of sorts.  You’re likely to forget the development aspect in favor of the humor that keeps you hanging on for more. (Disclaimer:  foul-language alert!!).

Manage Your Day-to-Day:  I picked up this book on a quick stroll through my local Amazon store.  I didn’t read it in one session because I wanted the insight to sink in.  Instead, I placed the book by my bedside and read it over a few nights.  The book reminds you of the power of creativity and the importance of setting aside blocks of time so that you can source your creative power. If you’re looking for ways to find time for creativity or just want to know why creative time is so essential to success, check it out.  It was a strong reminder to me that productivity is important but not at the expense of the creative time we need to clarify our business and life goals so that we can make room for the growth we’re seeking.
